"The day I found out I was pregnant with you was such a blessed day for me! Jake had came home for the weekend from Arkansas State Police Academy... It was the weekend of his 23rd birthday and he had news of what area he would be placed in! This was an extremely emotional time for me since Jake was gone throughout the week and we couldn't talk or see each other except on weekends.... He picked me up for lunch on his way home that Friday the first thing he said to me as I hopped in his truck was "you're glowing today!" And gave me a kiss on the cheek..It was random that he chose the word "glowing" since his normal word was usually beautiful...but I went along with it anyways. I asked him if they got to find out where they were placed yet and he let me know that he didn't get placed where we were wanting and we were going to be moving away from our families...I was in shock. He then let me know he was kidding and told me to open the envelop he had slipped in my hand.. It said Conway County (which by the way wasn't even an option when we got to pick his top three.) it was a miracle that we didn't have to move far off! So that night I had already planned a surprise birthday dinner for him and to let him announce to our families where he had been placed to work after he graduated. Later that night on our way home from dinner I had a feeling of pure happiness as I was picturing our life ahead of us and dreaming of a house we'd live in as our family of three and hopefully four one day!! I asked Jake if he'd run in the store to buy me a pregnancy test. He looked over at me like "what on earth for!".. It was a really random moment and timing for me to just blurt this out and have him stop at the store for this, haha! So of course he did.. We got home and I was skeptical to even take the test because I wasn't expecting it to say anything other than a big fat negative..but boy was so proved wrong ! Not only did Jake surprise Pais and I with the great news of getting to stay close to home with his job, and then Jake's surprise birthday party, but I was incredibly surprised with ANOTHER blessing that day...March 21, 2014 that I was going to be privileged to be not only a mother a one but now two precious children! I quietly walked out of the bathroom keeping my calm of excitement and trying hold me ever so big smile to normal before I walked in the room to Jake. He just looked and me and knew right then...we both sat there and just smiled and talked about what the future could hold for us and how blessed that day was for us! I guess he was right when he told me I was "glowing" when he picked me up from work that day."
"We wanted to wait to tell our families but with my anxiousness we just couldn't hold it in. We told Pais first and she was excited from what she could understand of what was fixing to happen in her life haha. We bought her a big sister present and a huge sticker that said "I'm a big sister!" We had her where this sticker into our parents house to see if they'd notice. Pais ran in their house and blurted "I'm gonna be a BIG STISTER(in her words)" needless to say they were super excited and shed some tears of joy as we all sat there and talked about a new baby coming."
The morning of Emma's delivery flew by rather quickly and it was time for everyone to meet sweet Emma face to face.
"The day we went into have Emma the emotions were really going crazy for me! All that was running through my head was how blessed and thankful I am to have such a wonderful family and I was about to welcome into it our second baby girl! We arrived around 5:30am that snowy Monday morning November 17th, 2014. The nurses tagged teamed everything that need to be done for preparation of the delivery... And I walked myself back to the delivery room around 7:10am repeatedly praying for a safe delivery and a healthy baby! As I laid myself on the operating table all I could think about was what her little cry was going to sound like and if she was going to look just like her sissy and what my first words would be to her. The time finally came! They were bring Jake and Melanie back in the room so I knew it wouldn't be long before I would be kissing on Emma's cheeks!"
"Finally I heard the sweetest little cries and I couldn't control my tear flow !! Jake looked over at me and just kept telling me how beautiful she was and how beautiful I was!"
"The first words I heard from Dr. Cole was "get this toddler a backpack and send her to school!!! She's a big baby!!" The second I laid eyes on Emma all I could do was cry and I kept telling Jake to bring her closer to me so I could kiss her some more! She was seriously so cute and chunky I couldn't help but want to hog her all to myself!"
"As they took her to the nursery and was getting me to recovery the doctors and nurses and I were kidding around and trying to guess her weight before they came back to tell us... We were all saying upper nine pounder and well..."
Watching Morgan and Jake's family see Emma for the first time was pretty priceless; and there were definitely a few tears shed! Paisley was so excited to see her little sister. I loved what Morgan had to say about Paisley talking about her little sister during the pregnancy.
"Throughout my pregnancy Pais would rub on my big 'ol belly and talk so excitingly to Emma. She would tell me all the time "Momma!! You know who I'm ready to be here?!?!? EMMMMYYYY!!!" It warmed my heart so much to hear her say that and to already show so much love to her sister! It's such a blessing and I'm so thankful to have such a loving little girl that I know is going to teach her little sister to be just like her!"
"The first time I got to hold both of my girls at the
same time was one of the most happiest times of my life! I had my
wonderful husband and both of my girls all to myself for about 30
minutes to just sit there in awe and thank god over and over for all
three of those blessings to my life! "
